Splash was engaged to design a unique way to recognize donors to the Giving Giggles campaign that helped raise more that $3Million towards the Kelowna General Hospitals new Perinatal Unit.

The project scope included developing a visual theme that would run throughout the unit. The concept is based on bringing the look and feel of Lake Okanagan into the unit. The first part of the installation is seen as soon as one exits the elevator to go to the unit, then continues past several windows looking out towards the mountains, past the family waiting area, and into the Perinatal Unit. The installation is on 3 sets of walls and windows. An additional donor recognition signage plan was also required that works with the existing room number signage plan.

Work Done: Design, Maquette Development, Technical Drawings, Coordinate and Oversee Installation

The "accordion wall" is based on paper artwork I would make as a child. The viewer interacts with the images by walking by it, making them in control of how they see it. A simple and fun way to make anyone passing by part of the artwork.

The donor recognition wall is 9 acrylic tiles that slowly change colour. They are lit from within and the light can only be seen on the right side and on the wave on the front face that "moves" across each tile.
