Working with small businesses

Recently I finished 3 logos that I am very pleased with – each for a small business. I have always liked working with small businesses, they always have great enthusiasm for what we will design together. But what makes small businesses more interesting is their commitment. The monies spent are their own - not just a budget line on a spread sheet. Sometimes it’s a matter of promote the business vs paying for something else. As a sole proprietor myself, I understand the choice of this vs that. Business vs personal. Responsibility vs fun.
I take my role as a part of their marketing team very seriously. I want to see them grow, be happy and inspire others. Being an entrepreneur is never easy, and its never with out some form of sacrifice.
Deciding to hire a qualified graphic designer should not be looked at as a cost. When done right – it is an investment. I have helped many small businesses improve their image and bottom line with well thought out design solutions.


Ginette Interiors
Ginette is a designer that offers innovative interior design, space planning and design development. Most of her work is large multi-million dollar homes. Ginette’s goal for her new identity was to be viewed as having some of the same cashe as famous brand identity’s that her clients are use to seeing and buying. By treating the type as plan views of walls, each letter has a sense of space and movement.

Blais Painting and Reno

I first met Pierre Blais at my house. He was hired by an emergency clean up company to fix and paint the down stairs ceiling and walls after we had a flood in our home. Pierre and I starting taking and he asked me what I do for a living, when I told him, he was instantly interested. He had been wanting to get a new logo, business card and truck graphics done for a while, but was not sure who to talk to. Pierre was easy to work with as he knew that he wanted his logo and business card to look and feel like a tool company’s logo you might see at a hardware store. He also understood that his best advertising was his company truck.

Within a week of his truck being completed, he was hired for a job that more than paid for design and production costs of his new business cards and truck lettering.

Jerry Geen and I have known each other for almost 20 years. I designed his logo and stationary when he was a commercial photographer. I also designed all of his logos since he changed professions 2003 to become a realtor. Jerry and Elya Byrne started working together in 2012 and this year they decided to form Geen+Byrne Real Estate Team. 

Because both Jerry and Elya are very well known throughout the community, and pride themselves by giving exceptional “plus” service, I decided that a typographic solution was best.
